The word is small but carries a lot of weight and meaning. In life, faith in someone plays a crucial role. It can be father or mother or brother or friend in whom we put our faith when we need guidance and advice.
When we travel, we pray and put faith in God's protection for the journey. When the journey is to overseas, definitely we make a point to visit our god's temple before leaving home. Immigrants, especially those who are coming from Indian subcontinent to study or pleasure or job or for immigration to the US, do not forget to go to a temple and pray to god.
Immigrants /newcomers to the US start a new life in the midst of culture shock, home sickness, job insecurity, lack of friends and relatives. Immigrants miss the bustle of their home town and speaking in their mother tongue. White, black, yellow, brown all type of skins amaze them and give an immigrant a feeling of loneliness in the crowd. So immigrants tend to find people from their own country and ethnicity, and when they find such group they simply create an invisible wall around them and become oblivious of the things around them. Immigrants tend to avoid interaction and mingling in the American society, they stick with their own ideology and beliefs and start practicing their own religion more fanatically.
Immigrants choose to find:
- Someone from their own country
- Someone who speaks their own language
- Someone who has similar cultural and moral values
- Someone of their own religion
When they find such a person or group, the bonding becomes very natural. The religious connection is generally much stronger for immigrants than ethnicity and native language.

We have to meet other immigrants' need irrespective of cast, color, creed, language, remembering that we once were also clueless and were seeking friendship and help in the beginning.
